Shrine of Buddha Shakyamuni
A tibetan carved, painted and gilt-wood shrine of Buddha Shakyamuni. The gilded image of Buddha Shakyamuni carved in high relief and set within a niche, the Buddha wears a maroon tunic and sits on a fine lion throne with an ornate throne back, above him is the sun and the moon and around him are chrysanthemums and peaches which symbolise longevity. 19th century. Height: 20cm.
