The Moró Antik gallery had more than ten exhibitions since our establishment, 20 years ago. We would like to present a few in this page. You can find more information, just click on the thumbnails.

Luxury Sword

Not everyday, simple swords has been presented in the Moró Antik Gallery, but the a 16. and 19. century period luxury swords and sabres.
The 24 swords of this superb exhibition was loaned from 6 hungarian private collectors. All of the pieces were rare and fine items as the Transylvanian noble sabre, the silver mounted turkish sword or the gilt empire sabre.

Netsuke II.

The Moró Antik Gallery announcing proudly the second exhibition on the subject of the netsukes, the small japanese “toggle” pieces from Japan. We are presenting 181 pieces for the visitors, selected from 11 private collections from Hungary. Through this 181 netsukes we can be allowed to inspect the old Japanese weekdays, religion and mythological world.
 Most of these netsukes had published in our catalogue for the first time.

Japanese Meiji Bronzes

With this oriental exhibition, we try -and hopefully succeed- to show the variety of this fascinating items, the Japanese bronze statues and artworks, made at the Meiji-era.(1868-1912) 

 All of the artworks represents the excellent craftmanship of the artists of the late 19th century. One of the exhibited item was a bronze pot holder as a perfect example of the subject, because the whole body has built from turtles. The artist created the forms so perfectly, that the observer expects the small animals to move sooner or later.

Animals of the Chinese Horoscope

What’s the common in the rat, the tiger, the monkey and the rooster?
They all are the part of the chinese horoscope. The Moro Antik Gallery’s exhibition was about the magnificient artworks related to the chinese horoscope’s twelve animals, as the gallery’s main interest is still the oriental art and we love animals too. Woodblock prints, statues, netsukes and lacquerwares just to name a few.

Religions Artworks

The material for this exhibition was selected from artworks related to the great religions of the world.
Christianism, jewish, islam and hinduism was represented among the items, just like buddhism and japanese religions.

Letter Openers

The material of our exhibition in september 2008 was a selection from the letter opener collection of Julia Vermes. Hundreds of this unique artworks have been found of this fascinating subject in this exhibition.

Buddha

Our Buddha exhibition’s Tibetian, Chinese and Mongolian statues were gathered from 15 Hungarian private collectors. All the 108 (sacred number in the buddhism religion) presented artworks were selected by quality, age and the rarity of the given pieces.

2007. october

Dagger

The material of this exhibition embraces four thousand years, from 1800 B.C. till the pieces of today. The daggers came from four continents, countries from America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
The daggers, we presented well illustrates how big can be the richness of form of objects made for the same function. The 113 daggers of the show were chosen from 18 collections.

To give a more complete presentation of our subject, we chose a few knives as well, fighting knives that have a place among daggers, due to their size.

Coptic Textiles

The third exhibition’s subject of the Moró Antik gallery was the coptic textiles, these very vulnerable and marvelous artworks. The 34 exhibited pieces were on loan from 7 Hungarian private collectors.

Netsuke

The subject of the first exhibition of the Moro Antik Gallery were the netsukes, the small japanese “toggle” pieces from Japan. We presented 120 pieces for the visitors, selected from 15 private collections from Hungary.
 Through this 120 netsukes we can be allowed to inspect the old Japanese weekdays, religion and mythological world. Most of these netsukes had published in our catalogue for the first time.
