Ottoman Shamshir



A heavily curved sabre -shamshir- from the Ottoman Empire. Gilt silver mounts on the scabbard. Every mounts has a mark (tugra) of the Sultan II. Mahmud (1809-1839). The blade has some rust, otherwise good condition. Full length: 97 cm
